Sarawak River Cruise

Asyik masuk hutan jer... y not this time kita g river cruise lak... wahhh river cruise... macam kelassss jer kan...  well u decide for yourself after reading this n3...

Sarawak river cruise is considered as one of the main attraction in Kuching. The boat is boarded from a jetty at the waterfront. The cruise will take u along the Sarawak river where u can see the Sarawak DUN (Dewan Undangan Negeri) building, Kg Boyan, the fishing boats and if u are lucky enough u will be able to cruise along the resident of the Sarawak Chief Minister...Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib bin Mahmud... which was exactly what happen to us when we went on this cruise.

Now the fare for this trip is rm60 for adults and rm30 for children. Take note all cheap people out there who likes bargain including me, there's a discount for the early birds...meaning if u buy the tickets early (from8am-3pm) you'll get 10% less. And this is another special shout out for those who were born in Sarawak, if u show them your ic you'll get more discount if not mistaken rm45 for adults.

They also serve u food on the cruise... now don't get too excited... when i say food what i meant was refreshments... as in a small glass of orange juice and a few pieces of the Sarawak's famous layered cake...kalau jamu nasik bagai2, people will b too occupied with the food and give less attention to the cruise...my own assumption jer laaa...

This cruise will take 1 n 1/2 hours, the departure time is at 5.30 everyday. Apart from the view along the river, the light refreshments, u'll also be entertained by a one man show. A man in a traditional costume will perform the traditional dance. And if u r really..really lucky, u'll get the chance to show off your dancing skill when the dancer choose or coarse to be exact, u to dance along with him.... That did not happened to me ok! i repeat, did not.

So you've read the facts and descriptions now feast your eyes with these images....

Just like what i said ealier

                                           I told u there's discount

This is how the boat looks like. The seats for the cruise is at the upper deck.

This is the DUN building i was talking about earlier... these 2 people are not in the pic by accident... they are my beloved parents.... they'll be really embarrass if they know that they r in my blog and being viewed by strangers.... ngeeeee

In this pic u have to look beyond what u see... that's right at the back where u can see kpg boyan

This is the resident of the Sarawak's chief minister

When i said we were lucky to get this close to his house and are able to take this pic is because my hubby was on this cruise before me taking his work related guests and they didn't get this close. And my sister in law also took this cruise and said that they didn't get close to this house. My assumption again mayb when the CM is not at home this cruise is allowed to come this close, but not when he is at home for safety and privacy reasons....

These are the pic of the one man show i was talking about. Sorry bout the quality of this pic if i'm not mistaken my daughter took this pic while being held by her father... that's y it's a bit shaky

And these were the two lucky girls who get to dance with this sexy man and show off their talent as well

Well that's it and at the end of the cruise my son wanted to swim in the river so i threw him off...

Ok... i've given u the facts n detail about the cruise. Now let's be honest, this is only my sincere thoughts n feelings. U can choose to ignore it and go ahead and experience it yourself or u can choose to experience something else instead. here are my reasons :-

1. to look at the beautiful DUN building doesn't have to be from the boat. u can actually see it from the water front.
2. same goes for the kg boyan... as u can see from the pic... bukan ada apa pun..nampak rumah2 org kampung jer laa... not like they have a show or something along the river.
3 After u passed the city area there's actually nothing much to see....
4. As for the CM house, u just pass along the back of his house... and it is unlikely that he'll be waiting there with his wife waving at u...
5. senang cakap like my hubby said... tengok jamban org jer laaa

All in all , to me I repeat, to me, it is not the best experience... i feel like it's only worth half the money i paid. Having said that, we went on the cruise in the first place because we wanted to see for ourselves what it is all about, esok2 org tak leh pekunun. Plus my parents were visiting.. we wanted them to enjoy their visit so we thought the cruise would be a nice experience for them.

So, u decide for yourself....
